As a member of British Columbia’s vibrant creative community, Canadian Artist Alana Chabot brings a multi-faceted perspective to her work. While we focus on her exploration of flowers in watercolor here, Alana has used a wide range of mediums including sculpture, pottery, bronzing, knitting, spinning, and more. Her first foray into watercolor was under the instruction of famed Gordon Smith at the University of British Columbia. Alana graduated UBC in 1980 as a registered psychologist and practiced as a psychologist in West Vancouver and Squamish, BC for 38 years, until her retirement at 70 in 2018.
This particular focus on flowers in watercolor began in 1996, all created on “Aqvarelle Arches” cold pressed 100% cotton canvas, sized 18” by 24”. Her beautiful watercolors are displayed in homes from Qatar, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Florida to Southampton and she has professionally shown this work at the Vancouver Art Gallery Courtyard, New York and Chicago.
Alana currently resides in Brackendale, BC a small Canadian mountain village by the sea. She shares her passion for art with her 3 daughters and 4 ( soon to be 5 ) grandchildren.
